They weren't alone. A little lady from the Bronx spoke up (imagine accent). "Madam, I agree that is a beautiful building. There are lots of old buildings in this part of town. It's such a gift to see them and look at the workmanship that went into their construction... And you sir, You--are a horse's ass!"

At that she walked across the street... Gone forever... she will never know that she was a blessing in the woman's life. From that moment on the little lady began to see that she was as intelligent as anyone else, had good opinions and a right to them. She planned for her future and eventually divorced the "town pillar" and made a wonderful life for herself that included a great marriage, children and a career of volunteering for causes she believed in.

Just think, if that one woman hadn't been at that one corner, in that huge city at that precise moment- if she had not said a "blessed" thing... how many lives would not have been touched by the woman who set herself free.

We all have a story. Everyone we meet has a story. How we choose to let our "stories" affect us, how we choose to use our "stories," makes all the difference in our life-time.

Know that you are a blessing,
Carolyn

Speaking of blessings:

"Dear Lucinda,

I can only imagine how many "thank you's" that you receive but I felt I still needed to write the Center... I finished the program about six months ago. You are truly a saint to all people who suffer with anxiety and depression. Like many people I searched for answers everywhere. You were honestly the first and only person who truly understood what I was going through. There was nobody for me to turn to when I started experiencing panic attacks. My life was a nightmare... .I am 23 and will graduate college very soon-with a BA in communications no less. I am truly a success story just as you are. My life is wonderful and I am excited to be alive... God bless you for what you have done.

My heartfelt thanks,
Kelli MCLean, CA

When we asked for volunteers to film a testimonial in Phoenix, I immediately receive, "OOOH! Pick me!!" What a delightful, bubbly young woman. She shared how the program helped her through the loss of a very close grandmother and the adoption of her baby daughter, Selene.

"Before the program I would have just stuffed those feelings (grief) and not allowed myself to be 'weak' and just feel the emotions... Just knowing that this is a REAL condition that so many others have dealt with and overcome, was so helpful... I can enjoy life and be free again. It's like getting a 'pardon' from a life sentence in Hell.

What would I like others to hear? That perfectionism will interfere with their progress. All or nothing thinking stops us from even trying, and that often leads to unneeded suffering.

I just had to write and send a big heartfelt thank you, to you Lucinda for the wonderful time I had yesterday (Phoenix). I am even more inspired to continue with my recovery and live that life without limits. You are truly an angel here on earth and I couldn't be more grateful for all you've done for myself and others!!

Leslie Fielding, AZ
P.S. I am pregnant!"
