Hello from Reno!

How are you all doing at the Midwest Center? Hope all are well. I am doing very well. Since last I wrote you, I have had some big new changes in life, and of course good ones. A couple months ago I quit my job at the Casino/Hotel.

Over time I had a growing feeling that it was time to face my fears and decided to put my talent to test. I've been doing very well teaching many types of exercise classes and doing personal training.

I remembered that I'm a good artist and I've earned money from selling my pottery. I decided I had marketable skills and belief in myself. I began asserting myself and driving all over ready to be open to new possibilities and ready to say, "yes" to reasonable choices. I can't tell you how great it feels to just go out there and present myself with purpose and confidence. I actually felt much calmer and confident selling my talents rather than trying to get some employer to please let me in to their establishment so I can keep a roof over my head.

During this transition of attitude I heard about St. Mary's, a brand new, medically based, carefully monitored exercise and well-being fitness center. It is sparkling and beautifully designed with nature as the main foundation in its design and colors. It has state of the art equipment and offers members a true spa, resort experience with each visit.

I applied for an instructor position and shortly was offered the position of Group Fitness Coordinator. I have a nice office and am in charge of a staff of 24. I love the job. I know that as I have trained myself to encourage, support, forgive and be myself, I have changed and I trust that I can go forward in the world and be part of it.

I think of the Midwest Center every day and am always grateful to be an ongoing success,

Thanks again,
John NV
