Create a No-Stress Zone: Tips for a More Stress-Free Life

The world is a stressful place. Every day may bring new surprises, new challenges, new obstacles and issues that create feelings of stress. Is it possible to reach a point in life where there’s no stress at all? A person can’t get through life and experience no stress, but there are ways to create a more stress-free life.

In some cases, it might seem impossible to stop the onslaught of stress. There’s no way to change the world or shut yourself off from things that might cause you stress, but there are ways you can deal with those stressors in a healthy way. Learn a few tips that will help you create a more stress-free life.

No Stress is Good Stress?

Stress is that terrible emotion which causes us to feel tense, irritable, over-energized and possibly even out of sorts. Stress can make us feel nervous, sweaty, too tired or too excited. But stress is actually a very natural body reaction, part of everyone’s primitive makeup. The rush of adrenaline, heightened senses and feelings of sharp focus that stress can create are all natural survival instincts which activate when we feel pressured, cornered or otherwise defensive.

Stress is a perfectly natural reflexive action, but feeling chronic stress can be potentially damaging to your body's systems. Stress increases blood temperature, heart rate and breathing, not symptoms you want to have on a regular basis. Everyone will experience feelings of stress at some point in their lives. In fact, having no stress in your life might be just as harmful as having too much. It’s how you deal with stress, and stressful situations, that help you reach a healthy balance.

Tips for a More Stress-Free Life

Reduce the amount of stress in your life not by reducing stressful situations, but by learning how to handle them. Master a few tips, and you could learn how to achieve a more stress-free life.

Locate the source of stress. Starting to feel a little stressed out? No stress is random - identify what (or who) is stressing you out. This will help you face the stressful situation (or person), which makes it easier to deal with the stress itself.

Deal with the problem. Are you feeling stressed because of a looming deadline? An unpaid bill? An appointment that needs to be made? Choose a course of action and follow it - either by making payment arrangements, asking for more time or finishing that phone call you’ve been putting off. When you deal with the problem that’s creating your stress, you’ll finally have reason to breathe a big sigh of relief.

Learn how to relax. Sometimes, we let ourselves get stressed out over all of life’s little problems. Learn how to face more of these problems - with no stress - by simply learning how to relax. When you feel stress creeping in, take a few minutes to breathe deeply, take a walk or otherwise take your mind away from whatever’s causing you stress. Do something that comforts you. Once you’re in a more relaxed frame of mind, you may find your problem isn’t so stressful after all.

Now without medication I feel wonderful. The Attacking Anxiety and Depression Program was a miracle for me." - Ginny

So there I was, a nurse, working in the emergency room taking care of people who have this and I couldn't help myself. I am different now because of the program. I'm living life, I am connected. Before I found the program I had trouble just walking out to the mailbox to get the mail. I thought I was going to drop over and die or faint. After the program, everything's changed.
